default
Posted on Sat, 8 Aug 2015
Question: I have been taking hydrocodone door over 5 years for chronic back pain (2 herniated discs/4mil. Protrusions); I have a prescription for Norco 10/325, however all of the pharmacies in my area are out of the drug until Monday. What can I expect as far as withdrawal? I take 3 times per day.

Brief Answer:
Return of pain.

Detailed Answer:
It's pretty UNLIKELY to have withdrawal from that amount:
1) as you know it's a 4-6 hr drug... most of the day it ain't there
2) the amount where people get into trouble is 5-10 times higher (frequent to see people on that dose; I know! I never prescribe that much to anyone... but.. I see it all the time and not just with addicts!)
3) the peak of withdrawal is about 2 days if one is on a heck of a lot of narcotics.

but... you might have some cravings... I don't know what to tell you about cravings connected with the back pain making you miserable and just wanting something for pain BUT that is not at all what we mean by cravings in addiction.
