Brief Answer:
Increase counts is related to chicken pox

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query
Based on your query and reports my opinion is as follows
1. Your total WBC counts and ESR is high. Other parameters are within normal limits.
2. High counts are due to past chicken pox infection. Chicken pox is a viral infection causes increase in counts besides high ESR.
3. Though you are symptom free, the counts settle in two to three weeks time.
4. Regarding your doubts on leukemia, in leukemia counts are in lakhs. In your case it is slightly more than higher limit of normal. So that's not significant.
5. If you are still in doubt go for peripheral smear examination to rule out or confirm leukemia.
6. Moreover trust your doctor as he/ she was right in reassuring you.
7. Go for routine fitness schedule, besides healthy nutrition as it creates a sense of well being.
Hope this helps.
Any more questions glad to help again.

Brief Answer:
Its not leukemia

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for replying
Yes, am quite sure its not leukemia after looking at your reports.
However you can get a peripheral smear examination if still in doubt.
another opinion with different doctor is not necessary.
Stay calm, repeat counts after three weeks, and get a psychiatric opinion.
Hope this helps

Brief Answer:
peripheral smear is normal

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for replying.
I went through the peripheral smear report.
It is suggestive of normocytic normochromic blood picture with normal WBC number, morphology and distribution.
Platelets are adequate
This rules out leukemia as there are no atypical WBCs seen.
Atypical means blasts or abnormal the precursor cells seen in leukemia.
So the conclusion from all your reports is raised counts are due to past infection and not leukemia.
Hope this helps
