Brief Answer:
Tests of stool and blood sugar- course of medicines (need a prescription)

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.

Gardnerella bacteria can exist in intestine , but this is the bacterium that mainly causes the bacterial vaginosis in females.

You have a fishy smell after defecation, on the toilet paper.
There are many other bacteria that can cause this.

I would advise you the following:
- Tests of blood for routine and sugar to rule out diabetes.
- Test of stool on three consecutive days.

A course of an antibiotic, metronidazole, pre and probiotics, activated charcoal tablets for 5 days should help solve you problem.
In addition you have to keep a tract of which of the foods and beverage increase your problems and avoid them.

I hope this answer helps you.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your feedback.
Noted your reports.
Salmonella can cause such problems as you have.
It is good to know that you have taken Cipro, felt better but the fishy smell is still there.
Please discuss with your Doctor and get an appropriate prescription for Cefixime, metronidazole and other medicines which I have mentioned above - pre and probiotics, activated charcoal tablets
