Question: Two days back, I got a burn on my feet by pouring extreme hot water.. I dont know how to treat.. then immediately i have poured cool water for a minute.. then put ice cubes directly to the foot for 5 mins.. i got relief at that moment only.. after taking out i got full of burning sensation inside my foot.. i have applied Burnol ointment which have found in my nearest medical stores.. it gives more burnung sensation when im applying. i left it for the whole night.. the next day my feet is still hot when i touch it.. then after a day, it becomes dark reddish.. pain was still remained but somewhat reduced.. How much time it will take to heal completely.. ? do i need to consult a doctor directly? applying ointment is the right option to treat burns? How to remove reddishness on my feet? pls give me some suggestions sir.. thank u..

Brief Answer: You are doing the right thing Detailed Answer: Hi there. Thanks for writing in. You are doing the right thing. Is there any blister or any wound... or is it just burning sensation and redness. If it is just burning sensation/pain and redness you can take an oral pain killer like paracetamol. Apply burnol topically at the site. If there is a wound /a blister that has been infected ,you need to visit the doctor ,as you might need oral antibiotics. It might take around a week or two to heal. Hope this answer was helpful to you. Get well soon. Regards, Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan

Brief Answer: hi Detailed Answer: Right now just apply burnol. That is good enough. Also leave the blisters alone. Don't try to break/rupture it. In a few days time it will get better.
