Question: i had two abortions. the last one in April 2014, since the i don't have regular menses. my menses used to be 28 cycle but now 31 cycle. accompanied with very tender breast. i have been trying to get pregnant for the past six months. what could be the cause.

i have been diagnose with PCOS last week but the the doctor wants to confirm if my fallapions tubes are ok, so he has asked me to do an HSG but i was unsuccessful because my the doctor could not locate my cervix so he suggested laparoscopy.

i believe my fallopian tubes are not blocked since i have been pregnant twice. my doctor wants to comfirm this before he can start any treatment.

please advise

Brief Answer:
Laparoscopy not required. Get HSG from another doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply:

1) Menses between 28 to 31 days are normal. If you are getting cycles every 31 days regularly, its normal.

2) There will be hormonal variation after abortion which takes time for it to get right.

3) PCOS with weight gain after abortion is one of causes of irregular bleeding and bleeding.

4) HSG is not necessary as you got pregnant earlier. If doctor could not find your cervix, please go to another good radiologist who can do an HSG.

5) Laparoscopy is totally unnecessary procedure for you and I am not in favour of it.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Brief Answer:
Need to know egg growth for maximum success.

Detailed Answer:
Follicular growth scan shows growth of eggs . Egg growth needs to be monitored as best time to try for pregnancy is when follicle reaches 18 mm in size. The pregnancy chances are higher around that time.

This can only be identified by follicular growth scan.

If you think doctor is imposing then change the doctor.
