Question: Hello. What are some good strategies to heal cracked/dry feet? I have been having some issue with toe nail fungus as well. I do not have any underlying illnesses.

Brief Answer: ...... Detailed Answer: Hi there... Thanks for writing in.... It is quite possible that you might be having athletes foot (a fungal infection) ,which might be causing the dry cracked heels. The toe nail fungus could be a complication of athletes foot. Do visit your dermatologist who might give you anti fungal creams and oral antifungals like itraconazole or terbinafine . Other measures which might help are: Use only cotton socks which absorb moisture. Wear non-occlusive shoes. Moisture attracts fungus....So, avoid walking barefoot in areas around swimming pools, locker rooms etc. Keep your feet clean and dry. Keep your nails short and dry. Sprinkle anti fungal powder on your feet before putting on your shoes. Sprinkle some anti fungal powder inside your shoes as well. Hope this information was helpful to you.
