Suggest Treatment For Weight Gain, Heart Palpitation, Pain In The Left Arm
Question: Hello Doctor,
I need to check about my daughter's health concerns. She is 17 years and preparing for her 12th board exams. Her weight is around 75 kgs and she is generally prone to gain weight easily. Her weight problem started when she was small and was diagonsed of Jaundice thrice. May be because becoz of the severe glucose doses, she started gaining weight post her illness.
Now, She is regularly complaining of heart palpitation, breathing problem and pain in the left arm. I consulted a general physician in our locality but he suggested that I should consult a pshychatrist.
Please suggest if I should get any tests done for her and if I should visit any doctor.

I have read your query and I am sorry for the situation you are in.
Before consulting a psychiatrist we have to rule out all the medical conditions. Thus I would recommend that you see an internal medicine specialist and get all the recommended tests done. The tests will include basic tests, thyroid profile, high blood pressure, fasting blood sugar, urinalysis, complete blood count, lipid profile, liver function tests, etc.
I am also concerned about the heart issues and she should also get an ECG and echocardiogram at the earliest.
