Brief Answer:
Could be due to mild electrolyte imbalance.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

I understand your query and concern.

You seem to have mild electrolyte imbalance with altered gut hormonal fluctuations.

A good diet rich if fiber and protein will help.

Take good quantity of fruits like apples and pomegranate.

Drink plenty of fluids 2-3 liters a day.

Electrolyte rich solutions like Electrobion will help.

Nausea can be controlled with the help of drugs like Domperidone SR one tab before meal daily for 3-5 days.

Appetite can alone be stimulated through good protein diet.

These measures should alone help to improve your symptoms.

Post your further queries if any.

Thank you.

sir, thank you.i have taken alcohol one week before.could my symptoms be attributed to that?

Answered by Dr. Suresh Heijebu (22 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Yes, alcohol can cause your symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX

I understand your concern.

Yes certainly alcohol can cause all the above mentioned symptoms of yours.

Alcohol is known to cause alcoholic gastritis, which can result in nausea and vomiting.

It can also lead to loss of appetite in the early stages due to its effect on liver metabolism.

It has even propensity to cause upper gastric bleeds.

So I strongly advise you to give up alcohol.

Thank you.

sir i have burning stomach too, what should i do?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Suresh Heijebu (23 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Pantoprazole will help.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir.

I understand your concern.

The burning stomach could be related to alcoholic gastritis.

I advise you to take tab pantoprazole 40 mg on empty stomach before breakfast for 14 days under strict medical supervision.

Consume fruits and leafy vegetables more.

This should be enough at the moment.

Since the onset is recent, you should improve with alcohol cessation and pantoprazole.

Thank you.

should i need to undergo endoscopy now?please advise sir.
doctor
Answered by Dr. Suresh Heijebu (10 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Not need at the moment.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,

As of now you do not need any upper gastrointestinal endoscopy.

The alcohol induced gastritis, will settle on itself with cessation of alcohol intake.

The need for endoscopy will arise only if the symptoms are persistent or recurrent inspite of medical therapy with pantoprazole.

Thank you.
