Brief Answer:
Relevant food specifications provided.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Madam.

I understand your concern.

Elevated prolactin levels in your case are caused by hypothyroidism.

Hypothyroidism causes elevated levels of TSH hormone which directly increase prolactin levels.

Cabergoline and Thyrox are excellent drug to treat your condition.Once the PL and thyroid hormone levels are normalized, you should be able to conceive.

The prescribed diet-

1.Avoid foods like Cabbage, cauliflower.

2.Chaste berries will help to reduce prolactin levels.

3.Avoid green peas and chick peas.

4.Pomegranate and apple are good to lower prolactin levels.

5.Fish can help to lower prolactin levels.

6.Avoid licorice products.

7.Consume oatmeal every day.

8.Consume iodine rich foods.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Cabergoline is Cat B drug.Relevant data suggested.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Madam.

I understand your concern.

Breast tenderness is a major side effect of cabergoline.

It can also result in heavy and painful bleeding periods(menstrual cycles).

Cabergoline Pregnancy Warnings:

Cabergoline has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA which implies the following------

Animal studies have revealed evidence of maternal toxicity (including an increased occurrence of various malformations), an increase embryo-fetal losses, and inhibition of growth and death of offspring secondary to decreased milk secretion. There are NO controlled data in human pregnancy.

The drug should only be given during pregnancy when need has been clearly established.

Hence based on above data, it is always safe to avoid conception while on Cabergoline.

Yes, it is important that you get another blood test -Thyroid profile and Serum prolactin levels to assess the response to treatment.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
