Suggest Treatment For Soreness And Tingling In Fingers

default
Posted on Thu, 7 Jan 2016
Question: Hi I have sore fingers when pressed, with a little tingling occasionally and tiny red pin pric size sores that hurt when pressed. I sometimes feel a bubbling sensation under my skin when rested.
I had stiffness in my joints for a couple of years especially my legs but no diagnosis was made fibromyalgia was ruled out. In case these problems are related, I should say I haveIBS.

Brief Answer:
Osteoarthritis or peripheral neuropathy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your query and understand your concerns.

In my opinion, two other possible conditions that may be related to your symptoms, besides fibromyalgia, should be evaluated further.

1. Osteoarthritis of the hands

2. Peripheral neuropathy

There is need for blood tests ( complete blood count, sedimentation rate, fibrinogen, rheumatoid factor etc.), x-rays of the hands, to evaluate osteoarthritis as a possible diagnosis.

There is need also for nerve conduction study and EMG, blood sugar levels, vitamin B12 level and thyroid gland function tests in order to evaluate peripheral neuropathy as another possible diagnosis.

These issues should be discussed with your primary care Doctor.

Hope I helped you.

I remain at your disposal for further questions and clarifications.

Take care.
