Brief Answer:
White coating on the tongue & Systemic disorder

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

White or greyish coating or 'furred tongue' may be due to smoking(heavy smokers), chronic debility, acute tonsillitis, sore throat etc. However furring of the tongue is of little value as an indication of disease.
White patches on the tongue may due to fungal infection(candida or monilia), leucoplakia ,chronic superficial glossitis etc.
Close-up photo,if possible will further clarify.
You have also various other symptoms indicating systemic disease affecting respiratory and gastro-intestinal systems mainly.
Fungal infection(candida or monilia ) is a frequently presenting sign of HIV infection. If risk factors are there ,ELISA for HIV needs to be done. Otherwise without physical examination ,it is difficult to pin point underlying conditions responsible in your case.

Brief Answer:
White coating on the tongue

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

You have sent good photographs of oral cavity which shows diffuse white coating of tongue and also some white patches on buccal mucosa .It appears to be fungal infection(oral candidiasis).
The diagnosis of Candida infection is established by visualization of pseudohyphae or hyphae on wet mount (saline and 10% KOH) of scrapings from lesions.
This investigation has to be done before starting anti-fungal therapy.
The condition is curable.
Oral candidiasis responds favorably to antifungal therapy and correction of predisposing causes where possible.
Clotrimazole or Nystatin troches are effective in most of the cases. In some cases systemic antifungal drug like Fluconazole tablets are needed, These are all prescription drugs and need doctor's consultation.
