Brief Answer:
Xanax not used for pain

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
Thank you for your query

You should discuss with your GP about medication use.
Generally, these 2 can be taken together, but Xanax is not used for pain and it is questinable if she will feel better. Xanax will make her drowsy too and it is used in some psychosomatic pain maybe. In upper back pain, some stronger analgetic should be used such as tramadol, opiat analgetics or diclofenac.

Wish you good health.
Regards.
