Suggest Treatment For Severe Gas, Stomach Pressure And Hiatal Hernia

default
Posted on Fri, 23 Jan 2015
Question: I went to XXXXXXX this summer to work as a barn hand at a ranch, I started belching, having severe gas, and stomach pressure after 4 weeks and it has not gone away in 5 months. My doctor did an upper GI and just gave me Zantac prescription, it has not helped. I take the Zantac prescription, a probiotic and over the counter anti gas meds every day and still have all the symptoms, lots of water, eating really slow and eliminating anything spicy helps some but its still bad. Do you think I could have gotten a parasite or bug working at ranch since I was in barn every day or gotten a hiatal hernia lifting heavy hay bails?

Brief Answer:
You have dyspepsia and GERD

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.

You are having symptoms of dyspepsia and GERD.
Zantac is a good medication.
Since you didnt get enough relief, you can consider taking either Prilosec or Nexium.
Also avoid smoking, alcohol, fatty food, citrus, coffee and chocolates.
Do not eat full stomach. Eat smaller meals.
Also check your blood glucose levels and get tested for H.pylori infection.

I hope that answers your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
