Question: I went to a Rediclinic on Saturday for a bad cough. I was tested for Flu A and B. Both negative. No sore throat. No fever. Just a bad productive cough. I was prescribed Amoxocilin 875 and Benzonatate. Sunday I was better, but Monday I was worse. I stopped taking Benzonatate because I thought I was having an allergic reaction. I was too restless to sleep. Today was better, but now at night time I am getting restless again. And I now have a low grade fever. What is going on?

Brief Answer:
viral and alergy

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome in HCM

I can understand your concern

As you explain the history yes it might be a viral situation probably a bacterial one is superimposed.

Don't worry so much it happens usually.

In such condition i recommend you to continue the current treatment for up to a week and probably to add inhalers like Budesonide twice. It will help more if an alergic situation is in combination too.

Just be patient and do correctly the treatment and you will feel better soon.

Take care and feel free to ask me again
