Question: hi doctor,

I went to doctor and she suggested cluvlinic 625 for 5 days and montec LC for 7 days ; steam inhalation and nasal spray 7 days. dose is completed but still I feel some kind of fluid in my ear. I do not have cough now. one nose still closed 50 ℅.I went for follow up and she said sometime fluid gets accumulated behind the eardrum. there is no wax in ur ear. it will take some time.

because of this I feel less hearing from left ear also I hear my own sound sometime. kind of uneasiness.
it happened first time to me. it's a common thing? when I woke up in morning I feel more discomfort. any advice.how long it take to clear fluid.

Brief Answer:
Eustachian tube blockage

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to HealthcareMagic and thanks for putting up the query
You are having eustachian tube blockage due to sore throat. This is very common after a throat infection. It will be fine in next few days.
Take an oral decongestant and use a decongestant nasal drops for another 5 days. Also take steam inhalation and chew a gum. This will help the tube to open and the feeling of heaviness in ears will subside.
The echo of your sound is also due to this.
Please get a x-ray paranasal sinuses done and send me the reports. You might be having a septal deviation that is responsible for the nasal blockage and sore throat. The reports will help me suggest you better.
Any further questions are always welcome

Brief Answer:
Eustachian tube blockage

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I can understand it doesn't feel good with blocked ears but it is always good to treat with medicines rather than going for an intervention.
If the ears are not normal in 3 weeks then intervention is done. Tympanotomy is done with grommet insertion. It can be done immediately if it is very painful but in your case I think you should try with medicines.
Please take an oral decongestant also for quicker relief. Rest all to continue.
Any further questions or doubts are always welcome
Wishing you a speedy recovery
