Suggest Treatment For Red Bumps In The Genital Area

default
Posted on Mon, 14 Nov 2016
Question: I noticed a red bump in my genital region about 3/4 days ago it didn't really change over that time and I started to worry it is herpes. Today I popped it and mostly blood came out but also seemed like a clear liquid as well. Some of the symptoms are a lot like herpes but on the other hand a lot of the symptoms don't match too. I also want to point out that over the last 2 weeks I have been extremely stressed out and have honestly only slept an average of 2 hours a night. On top of this I also have drank excessively every night during this period and have been doing some drugs and barely eating. Basically very unhealthy as well as unhygienic. What does this mean. The bump is now flat and just a pinkish color. Also I never had pain or ichyness

Brief Answer:
Herpes usually is accompanied by pain and itching.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query. Herpes is usually accompanied by pain and itching. It also won't stay same. It will get bursted after 2 to 3 days and form crust. It usually won't come as one and will be multiple also.
If you send picture of the rash then it will be more helpful. Even if it is herpes no need to worry. It is present in 1 out of 6 people in US. It is not a big thing to worry. And if you don't have itching or pain it is not likely to be herpes and it is most likely a boil. using povidone iodine ointment for local application will be helpful also.

Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.

It has become very small and a lighter pink it would be hard to see in a picture. What causes boils?

Brief Answer:
Most likely bacterial infection of hair beds.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.

Thank you for your follow up query.

I have gone through the picture. It looks like folliculitis (infection of hair bed). This can occur after shaving also. Boil is another term used for this. You can do warm compress and apply povidone iodine ointment for this. Nothing to worry in this.

Let me know if anything not clear.

Thanks.
