Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Viral Fever

Question: Question for Dr. Ratnesh Pandey, homeopath - My 19 months old daughter seems to have viral fever. No much signs of cold and cough, or stomach infection but heavy breathing when she sleeps (seems like she has cold but does not have running nose). Her paediatrician did not find any congestion too. As per one of your previous advice, I have given her Belladona 30 around 6 times since yesterday night. I have also given her Euphresia 30 twice today and Allium Cepa 30 once, all 4 pills at a time. But the fever seems to come back, is slso taking time to subside. please advise soon.

The fever started since day before yesterday night and stayed through the day but the fever range was 99-101 degrees. In the day she was also a bit better and could eat on insistence, though there was a loss of appetite. But tonight the fever is around 102 degrees and doesnt seem to subside even with baby paracetamol syrup (we gave her this alongwith belladona 30). The fever tends to increase/ stay after 3pm or so. We will get the blood tests done today - any specific tests u recommend? no other visible symptom yet.

Continue syrup Paracetamol as it is.

I am suggesting some medicine you can start with following

Belladona 30 every two hourly 4 pills
Arsenic Alb 30 every two hourly 4 pills
R1 10 drops with half cup of water 2 hourly

Take the medicine for 2-3 days. This will solve the problem.
There is some infection in the body that cause sudden increase in temperature.
Please share blood report after once it is done.
You can also go for Blood test for Malaria Parasite (MPV)

Should I start giving the medicines anyway or wait for the test report to come? We have given the blood sample in the morning for testing malarial parasite and dengue as well.

Also, kindly explain what are the medicines other than Belladona expected to do? Will it cure the infection? Or works in a different manner?

I assume both these medicines are safe for 1.5 yr old child.

R1 (reckweg series) is inflammation drop. similarly Arsenic has very good role in microbial infection. So medicine will work to cure any infection in the body. Change in temperature is sign of infection in the body.

There is no harm in giving the medicine. If baby is having fever or any allied symptom you should give the medicine. If not you can wait for result.
Medicine are totally safe for the baby. I have prescribed lowest potency to avoid any aggravation.

Doctor, I have got the medicines and have started giving them since 8pm. The temperature was 99-100 from afternoon onwards. After dinner, when we were putting her to sleep she vomitted everything she ate since evening and also had fever arnd 101 degrees. Nevertheless gave the medicines again. Something is bothering her during sleep and is getting up repeated .

Both the symptom vomiting and muttering delirium with restlessness are due to high grade fever. Some time increase in temperature cause increase in peristaltic moment or indigestion and leads to vomiting.
Most of time specially in case of baby's they show this type of symptom. So do not worry and continue the medicine keeping this symptom in mind i have already prescribed medicine Belladonna which will act on this.

yes giving medicine as per prescribed dosage but fever is not coming down easily so having to give Mefenamic Acid suspension, prescribed by her local paediatrician. But your homeo prescription worked well for her stomach infection last month so will continue that as well. In the night the fever gets very high.

You can give mefenamic acid suspension in case of high grade fever. the cure process in homeopathy is comparatively slow than allopathy. And second reason we have given low potency medicine which means effect of medicine will take little time and cure gradually increase. it may take some time meanwhile continue the dose and share the investigation report with us.

Doctor Pandey, my daughter is fine now and the tests for dengue and malaria are also negative. Do you want to look at anything specific in the reports? She had a bit of running nose after she recovered from fever. so gave her allium cepa 30 for 1 day. Now under control. The medicines which you prescribed were given to her for 2.5 days. Please advise if any medicine is to be continued to prevent relapse of the infection.
