Suggest Treatment For Raised SGOT And SGPT Levels

default
Posted on Fri, 2 Jan 2015
Question: Hi,
I wanted to ask that I was detected with extremely raised SGOT and SGPT a couple of months back and was in the hospital for 10 days on Hepamerz 4 amplules and dextrose and salines. Simultaneously, I caught Jaundice and bilurubin went upto 10 but now back to 1.1.
I have been doing professional bodybuilding and took Neurabol (Stanozolol 2 mg capsules) for 2 and a half months before falling sick and another 2 and a half months more in the beginning of the year (5 months in 10 months) and also testacaps (Andriol 40 mg) for 3 weeks before falling sick.
Hepatitis A was positive and that was what I was detected with. Probably the steroids made the immune system weak and so much complication occurred.
Initial Results 18th October - SGOT-7000 SGPT 9000. Today, SGOT-29, SGPT-40. GGTP also went upto 1350 but now back to 250. Probably another 10 days before they are normal.
I want to now ask that I understand that steroids are bad and I will not take them again. But I want to exercise again. One of the doctors says no exercise for 6 months but I don;t want to wait that long. Can you please guide me when can I do some physical exercise again? I am also on non oily and non spicy food already and having chicken twice a week. Some diet tips and when can I exercise are my two main questions.

Brief Answer:
Hello Murtaza - Steroid Aggravation may be the cause....

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thank you for the query.
I understand your concern.
Good you are recovering well from jaundice and severe infection.
I guess the severity was aggravated due to steroids that you had been taking.
Well regarding diet you can resume your normal diet now, no need of any restrictions. Can have non veg also no restrictions on spice and oil too.
Ensure hygiene food intake.
Regarding exercise I guess you can start with regular walk however heavy exercises can be resumed after a month or so when the liver function have normalised completely.
Hope this answers your query.
Best wishes.
Happy to help.
