Suggest Treatment For Painless Right-sided Bump On Urethral Opening

default
Posted on Wed, 4 Nov 2015
Question: I have what seems to be a painless bump on the right side of the urethra opening. Can you advise what this could be based on the photo provided? I have had split stream urination for a bout a year but never really paid any attention to it. Recently i had a sexual encounter (protected) with the casual sex worker and began paying attention to this bump. this is the first time i noticed this and not sure if this occured before or after this encounter

Brief Answer:
Looks to be benign, do not worry if there are no symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and a clear picture.

Firs of all, remember if the sex was protected one with unbroken condom, this problem is not then related to any STD or so.

As per the picture you have provided, this looks to be one of the following:
- It may be a dilated blood sinus and not of any clinical significance.
- I can a loosed mucosal prolapse as it can occur due to its presence on the junction of the urethral mucosa and the outer skin of glans.

If there are no symptoms related, to burning, bleeding, pain or so, this can be kept under observation for any further development.

I hope this answers your query, please feel free to ask for further relevant query if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
