Brief Answer:
Seems to be sinusitis.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having mucus in throat. I would like to ask you few more details.

Is there any sequence of sneezes or running nose ?
Is there any cough or wheeze head- ache ?

Kindly get back to me with the details.

Based on your clinical details, it appears to be sinusitis secondary to allergic rhinitis.

I suggest you to to consult ent surgeon and get detaild ent examination and nasal endoscopy. depending on the examination reports further treatment is required accordingly.

Mean time, start steam inhalation twice daily to clear secretions from clogged sinus openings. I would also start nasal decongesents like afrin (xylometazoline) 3 drops/3times along with Zyrtec (cetrizine) 10 mg one tab at bed time. Discuss about these strategies with your treating doctor.

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.

There was cold and running nose with watering of eyes more than a month ago. There was no cough and running nose stopped after 10 days but mucus kept dripping since more than a month.End of march and first week of April was colder, temperature being around 24 -27 degree centigrade and dripping was more. Now temp at 35-37 degree dripping is less. When I drink(take alcohol-2 pegs), it is more; when I don't take alcohol it is less.

Need to stop alcohol.

Detailed Answer:

Hello again,

Thanks for considering my answer and for your follow up.

Looks like sinusitis, secondary to allergic rhinitis (cold climate and chilled drinks).

You need to stop consuming freezer products (curd/ice cream/cola) and protect yourself from exposure to dusty and cold climate.

Kindly go ahead for the instructions and investigations, what I have already mentioned.

Hope, I have answered your query.

Take care.
