Question: My 16 year old son has been having foamy urine.
My 16 year old son has been having foamy urine lately. When he first urinates, the bowl has a fair amount of bubbles which start popping. After maybe 1 minute or 2 , tiny bubbles that do not burst is left in the toilet bowl. This covers about 2/3 of the top portion of the urine. Tiny clear bubbles, collected together in patches.
He has no other symptoms, thank you.

thank you for the answer. It sounds like this foaming is quite common. Could it also be pre -ejaculate fluid that is causing the little bubbles? He is going through puberty.

My only concern is kidney disease. Please put my mind at ease that this is not the case. He is healthy, no pain, no swelling, no other symptoms. thank you

Also, this happens even during the day, not only the first time he wakes up

Brief Answer:
kidney function can be tested. it's not pre-ejaculate.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.

You don't need to worry about kidney function. If you're are very worried, his blood can be tested for kidney function. The tests are serum creatinine and urea. Further, an ultrasound of abdomen will confirm that both kidneys are normal.

It's not pre-ejaculate as you think. Don't worry.
