Suggest Treatment For Fever And Chills
Question: I have been suffering from fever for the last 4 days with chills in the evening.the temperature has been around 99.5 with temperature in the evening going upto 101.5. I have under gone blood test and reports are attached.

1)What all symptoms you are having,other than fever?(cough,sputum,throat pain,headache,nasal stuffiness/discharge,bodyache,abdominal pain,nausea,burning sensation on urination,increased frequency of urination etc.)
2)Any wound,boils or rash in the body?
3)Any change in bowel habit?
4)Have you undergone any blood test other than CRP?We also need to have a complete blood count at least.
5)Is the fever responding to the medication given?or persisting as such?

I did have soar throat which has now subsided. Urination is normal,however there is dull ache in the abdomen area particularly when the fever goes up. Have been having constipation . Attached total blood count report. Fever come down but goes up again the evening

if the fever persists after 3-4 days of antibiotics,this need further evaluation and upgradation of antibiotics.with associated abdominal pain during fever,enteric fever is a possibility.
kindly get back to your doctor for further evaluation.you may be asked for further investigations like blood culture,typhoid serology,peripheral smear,urine test etc depending on the situation.
meanwhile,have a light diet rich in fruits and vegetables.drink plenty of oral fluids.take adequate bed rest.

Dear doctor,
Attached are my reports done and i have been diagnosed with traces of typhoid. Also i have throat irritation. When i try to clear by coughing i get blood (very very small spots). Please advise if i have worry abt it and also please advise an apporpriate diet based on these results. I have been given an anti biotic for 10 days.

So as I told early, you are diagnosed with enteric fever(typhoid). This can be treated with antibiotics for few days. Just stick on to your doctor's advice.
Regarding diet, include plenty of fruits and green leafy vegetables(especially sprouts, pulses etc), reduce proportion of non veg items, and drink enough fluids. Also,give your body adequate bed rest. Avoid heavy works atleast for next 3 to 4 weeks.
Regarding sore throat, the antibiotics you are already given will take care of this also. Minor blood staining on coughing up need not be worried. Avoid forceful coughing and do frequent warm saline gargles. It is better to avoid cold drinks. Let me know if the blood staining persists after 5 days of theses supportive measures.
