Brief Answer:
may be related to physical or emotional causes

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Your symptoms can be related to physical or emotional causes or a combination but physical causes need to be assessed first.

The physical conditions that can be associated with energy and appetite are: (1)low levels of thyroid hormone can cause fatigue
(2)anemia- low red cell mass
(3)side effect of medication
(4)abnormal electrolytes such as calcium, magnesium and phosphate
(5)liver and kidney function are also normally assessed because disease of these organs can affect the levels of different electrolytes and toxins which may affect energy levels and appetite
(6)vitamin b12
(7)screen for syphilis with a rapid plasma reagin test
(8)HIV if there are any risk factors

If these are all negative with no abnormalities then your doctor will consider whether the symptoms are related to mood disorders such as depression.

Depression can also cause a change in appetite, energy levels, depressed mood.

It can also be associated be lack of interest in normal activities, lack of concentration/making decisions.

Your doctor can conduct the tests mentioned to determine the if any of those above conditions is contributing to your symptoms.

If there are normal, then it may be related to emotional or mental issues that need treatment.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
