Hi,
Thanks for writing..
I understand your concern. But I need details about your symptoms so that I am better able to help you.

Are you on Oral Contraceptive Pills (OCP)? Since how long are you on OCP's? Do you get heavy bleeding while on OCP's? Which OCP are you taking? Have you done a ultrasound abdomen and pelvis recently?

How many pads/tampoons do you change daily? Is there any passage of clots? Are your periods regular? Is pain associated with periods?

I would advise to get a scan done to see for fibroid uterus/adenomyosis. Get a hemoglobin to rule out anemia. Anemia can cause excessive sweating, tiredness and weakness.

Please answer the queries so that I can give a definite diagnosis and treatment. Good health.

Hi, i have had period problems since 16, always very very painful. They got really heavy in last 6 years, to the point were although always regular i would turn bath red, had to sit on tea towel, take spare clothes and would soak through two tampons and pads. I had anemia too. I pass huge clots sometimes and always have some clotting. Can be very red and heavy sometimes darker and thick. I have been to doctors for years. Eventually after failing to insert coil they allowed me the pill for non contraceptive reasons. The pill means i have sometimes a reduction in bleeding and pain but i can bleed for month too. They have suggested endrmetriosis, but the last three weeks have been mainly feeling very hot, sweating so im soaked, one day i dripped, feeling sick, and unable to focus on work etc, i always find these symptoms when i am on but sometimes they occur before and last longer but this is the worst. I had a scan and had ovarian cyst and fibroid, cyst burst v.heavy clotted period immense pain, fibroid still there but said small

Hi,
Thanks for writing..

Your heavy bleeding can be due to fibroid or endometriosis.. Take tranexemic acid along with mefenemic acid thrice daily after consulting with your gynaecologist.. OCP's can be continued.. Inj depo privera can be taken to reduce bleeding after consulting your doctor.. Get a pap smaer done..

I feel you have a very serious problem.. Heavy uncontrolled bleeding can cause severe anemia.. If your family is complete you can go for laproscopic hystrectomy.. If its not desired repeat scan every yearly to see for the increasing size of fibroid..

Get anemia corrected depending on your hemoglobin. If Hb>9 oral iron tablet will be sufficient but if < 9 , IV injection with iron sucrose might be required. Severe anemia might even require blood transfusion. Take folic acid and Vit B 12 along with it. Your tiredness will get reduced by it..

Dont worry.. Hope your problem will be solved soon. Hope I have answered your queries.. Feel free to ask any doubts. If no doubts kindly close the conversation and rate my answer. Good day.

Hi,
Thanks for writing..

Your doubt is genuine.. The symptoms you experience can be due to anemia or early menopause.. Both have almost same symptoms except with bleeding. Heavy irregular bleeding can be early menopause also.

To differentiate get Hb done. Hb is low means it can be due to anemia. Get estrogen, FSH and AMH. Low AMH, low estrogen and high FSH indicates early menopause..

Hope I have answered your queries.. Feel free to ask any queries.. Good day.
