Suggest Treatment For Enlarged Prostate And Cholestatic Dysfunction Symptoms
Question: hello
my grandfather is 90yrs old he had enlarged prostrate of 30 gms. so due to this there was fluid retention because of this we have install catheter. this was in late july. then the urine started becoming foggy so we had UTI test routine done with culture. He had field full puss cells. and urea was eleveated so doc have him levofloxacin 500 which was sensitive and also gave magnex 1g inj. for 15 days . now the situation is that his alkaline phosphatase is 540 bilirubin total 7.03 sgpt 190 and sgot 178. now doc has prescribed for ultrasound above abdomen. Is tere any serious thing or threat .And what we have to do Doctor prescribed earlier which he was taken

His liver function are more suggestive of cholestatic dysfunction means some thing might be blocking the bile duct or something is infiltrative in liver.
This can be differentiated by ultrasonography
Some test like gamma Gt will help in addition.
Some time advanced tests like mri of liver may be needed.
Also prostrate specific antigen needs to be tested for prostrate tumor too.
All these tests will further help in clinching the diagnosis and treatment.
