I have feel this before for years, but tonite it is has been to an extreme. Last night I ate something and it seemed to ease the pinching pain. I took geritol also and it seemed to feel a little better. I do not have diabetes, but I do have a stomach ulcer that has brought me similiar pain. Right now I am drinking hot ginger with cheyene pepper just to see if I can get better circulation.

Brief Answer:
B-group vitamin deficiency.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.

Based on your query my opinion is as follows:

1. Cold, numb feeling and pinching pains, all appear to be neurological manifestations.
2. It is possibly due to nutritional deficiency. Selective diet or abnormality in nutritional intake secondary to food choice due to stomach ulcer could have caused deficiency.
3. Vitamin B12, B1 and B6 deficiency usually presents with these symptoms. Vit B-complex supplements will be helpful. It is still early stages and minor sensory manifestations are being seen. If not corrected, it could progress.
4. Also do get your thyroid profile done. Hypothyroidism could present with cold and numb feeling with occasional generalized body aches.

Take Vit B-complex supplements atleast for 15 days for improvement. Continue it for another 3-6 months, along with diet rich in green leafy vegetables, fish, egg, legumes etc. Avoid alcohol or spicy food.

Ginger is every helpful in building immunity. You can continue to take it. Nutritional improvement is essential. Get a hemoglobin estimation to rule out anemia.

Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
