Suggest Treatment For Cold, Cough And Fever
Question: my daughter and wife is suffering from cold and cough and fever, daughter is 1 year old and wife is taking already ak3 tab for tuberculosis, both are suffering from cold and cough now fever is control but cough and cold still runing. doctor gave these medicine to baby 1. solvin cold drops 2. azithral drops and cozy nasal drop, than fever control but cough and cold still runing

I am sorry to hear that your wife is suffering from tuberculosis and is currently on treatment. I hope that the child has already been screened for the same. If not, I would insist you to discuss with your doctor about screening the child for tuberculosis since there is a possibility of transmission from the mother to the child within the first 14 days of the treatment being started for the mother.
However, certain viral infections can also cause the cough and cold. Often there can be a superadded bacterial infection for which your doctor has prescribed azithral which is an antibiotic. Although antibiotics can treat the superadded infection, if any, they are ineffective in the treatment of viral infections. Hence, irrespective of the use of antibiotics, such infections may last for 5-10 days. I would insist you to be patient.
Solvin contains an expectorant and can be given. If fever is present, it needs to be controlled by the use of crocin or paracetamol and tepid sponging. Saline nasal drops like Nasoclear may be given in case of nasal block. Steam inhalation should be helpful for both the child and the mother.
But the child growing lethargic or developing wheezing calls for immediate action and you would have to take him to a pediatrician without delay. You need to get the blood counts and C-Reactive Protein (CRP) levels checked. If the leucocyte count or CRP turn out to be high, antibiotics need to be give.

In the initial 14 days of the anti tubercular medication being started, there is a possibility of the infection spreading from the mother. But beyond that, the mother no longer remains infective, to the baby or to anyone else. So, I do not consider possibility of such a spread.
Now about the mother's fever, it is possibly due to some viral infection that could occur additionally. Such viruses are always around us and when our immunity drops, we catch cold. So, there is a possibility of such an infection occurring in both the mother and the baby.
