Brief Answer:
PCOS can be controlled by exercise

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to HCM,
PCOS is the most common disease seen in reproductive age group in women causing delayed irregular menses with hyperandrogenemia and polycystic ovaries contributing to anovulatory cycles. Also increased insulin resistance possibly due to obesity is also a cause of innovation and delayed menses concomitantly seen with PCOS. The aim is to to reduce androgens and promote oestrogen production with an aim to produce ovulatory cycles.
Low dose oc pills are the best to treat the same for 6-8 months which regularises the cycles and the hormonal imbalance. Also important is weight loss to decrease insulin resistance. If you are not keen on taking oc pills then you should be reducing your weight to decrease insulin resistance with exercise.A modest weight loss can improve high androgen and high insulin levels and infertility. Weight loss of as little as 5% to 7% over 6 months can reduce androgen levels enough to restore ovulation and fertility in more than 75% of women who have PCOS.
