I have tried many creams, no dietary products and monitor acid juice drinks, NO SALT. I am OK until I take some food and do not want to be touched by scratchy clothes or maybe even a sheet .Can you advise ?Would this be neurology as I had a scan and it did not show anything. They have set a date for me to have a liver biopsy. My Aunt had all these symptoms and more and she started having kidney problems and died last week. Liver disease from not drinking is in my family history with a grandmother and a cousin and two aunts. dying from this. I take a ambien 5mg every night to help me sleep. Brief Answer:
Peripheral neuropathy to consider.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Since you don't use Humira, itching should have stopped if it was a side effect of this drug use.

Itching, scratching and sensitive changes you refer may indicate peripheral nerves involvement.

In my opinion, two are most likely explanations that may cause your concerns:

1- periodic accumulation of toxins and/or crystals ( of uric acid for example ) in skin and irritation of small peripheral nerves

2 - peripheral neuropathy, a condition characterized by damage of peripheral nerves by several factors that in your case may be liver and kidneys dysfunction, side effects of drugs.

It is necessary to get evaluated by tests about your kidneys function besides liver function, also it is necessary to get evaluated with nerve conduction study and EMG in order to understand better your condition and achieve a correct diagnosis.

Discuss with your Doctor about these issues.

If peripheral neuropathy with result after such evaluation, we can say that yes, this is a neurological issue, and additional treatment with drugs such Gabapentin, Pregabalin etc. may be necessary.

In both cases, finding the responsible condition that is causing such symptoms and treating it should improve these symptoms too.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards.
