Brief Answer:
Vestibular dysfunction

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that you have been having new onset of dizziness and loss of balance after having ear surgery. This is actually to be expected after ear surgery. The ear is the center where not only hearing but also balance occurs. With your surgeon working so close to the balance centers you will have vertigo or unbalanced feeling after surgery. As another side effect from the surgery you may feel like your ear is plugged or ringing this is also a complication or side effect from surgery. Only time will tell if your balance returns and your hearing improves.

The electric shock feeling maybe due to increased sensitivity to the facial nerve that also runs close to the ear. Hopefully with time the hypersensitivity you are experiencing will also resolve.

I hope this answers your question. Please contact HCM again with your health care concerns and questions

Good luck
