Brief Answer:
Please give details and post actual reports.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
To recapitulate: Female/63 - visited a Doctor - 6X12 mm cyst on pancreas - low density - pancreatitis 8 years ago - does not drink - MRI in 2 months - wants an explanation whether the tumor be of high density ....

Please give some additional information for me to explain properly:
- What was the indication of the scan?
- Whether this is a Ultrasound finding or CT scan?
- Do you have any symptoms of pain, jaundice, acidity related problems or so?
- Please post the actual report to understand what the Radiologist has detailed?
- Any other information which you feel relevant or irrelevant?

Since the attack of pancreatitis was 8 years ago, it is unlikely to have any great implication after such a long time. 6x12 mm is a small lesion and its implication depends upon the exact size and the reading of the Radiologist is the most important factor.

High density is usually a tumor with solid growth or so.
MRI or MRCP helps further to understand the potential diagnosis. Interpretation of the Radiologist is the only thing that can help us to know what the lesion is about, particularly in case of pancreatitc lesion.
Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) is one of the best modality to give further diagnosis. Please discuss and try about this too.
I can understand the possibility of a tumor or cancer is your concern and yes a delay of 2 months is more.

I hope this answer helsp you, please feel free to give me feedback, ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

The findings are from an incidental CT scan of the abdomen. I do not have the actual report but my doctors nurse read the finding to me as a low dencity area 6×12mm. I do not have any of the symptoms you describe.

MRI will clear the matter further.
