Brief Answer: Kindly reply few questions. Detailed Answer: Hello XXXX Thank you for choosing HCM. I can understand your concerns, there are many reasons for clomid failure. I need some more information so that I can guide you further, 1)Since how long you are trying for baby? 2)Is this the first time you have taken clomid? what is the present dose you took and for how long? 3)When was this high prolactin level diagnosed and what was the lab values? 4)Since how long you are taking Bromocriptine tablets (parlode)? 5)What is the present prolactin levels? 6)Does your husband been evaluated for any sexual problems like Ejaculator or erectile dysfunction? what is his semen report? If you could attach all your reports it will be easy for me to analyze and come to a conclusion. To get pregnant you need to have normal coitus, regular cyclical ovulation, patent fallopian tubes and normal semen reports. Please ask if you have more questions, and do write back with the answers so that I can guide you further. Awaiting your response. Regards Arif

Brief Answer: Continue parlodel till you get pregnant. Detailed Answer: Hi XXXX Thank you for the reply. After analyzing your history, I feel your irregular periods are due to prolactin hormone abnormalities. You need to continue the Parlodel tablets till you get pregnant. Bromocriptine (parlodel) helps for regular ovulation, and even it will help to get pregnant fast. Kindly speak with your doctor regarding continuation of parlodel. Sometimes you need higher dose of Clomid for ovulation, usually starting dose is 50mg. If they don't respond the dose is increased to 100 and even upto 150mg maximum. And I usually start my patients on 50mg initial dose from day 2 to day 6 of their periods and continue bromocriptine (if they are already on that medication), if they don't respond to this I will increase it to 100mg/day. For PCOS patinets if they still dont respond with clomiphene, we might have to put them on gonadotrophins injections. Even diagnostic laparoscopy with ovarian drilling might even help for CLOMIPHENE RESISTENT cases. Please ask if you have more questions. If you are satisfied, please make sure that your ACCEPT my answer so that I receive credit. Good luck!!

Brief Answer: You need to continue parlodel . Detailed Answer: Hello XXXX Thank you for the followup question. You need to continue your Parlodel as usual how you used to take it before. Once pregnancy is confirmed it has to be stopped. You need to take Parlodel continuously, you have to continue that even when you are taking clomid. Kindly speak with your doctor regarding this. Its better to take parlodel in night time, as one of the side effect of bromocriptine is postural hypotension (i.e Low blood pressure). You can take clomid in the morning and parlodel in afternoon and night. This is my personal opinion, visit your doctor for a prescription. But kindly speak with your treating doctor before you change any dose or adding any additional drug. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. In case of any doubt, I will be available for follow-ups. If you like my answers kindly rate it, and write a review as well. Please do not forget to accept my answer so that I receive credit. Thank you, Wish you good health. Regards, Dr Arif
