Brief Answer:
Probably an inflammatory bowel disease, follow the advice below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms seem to be related to inflammatory bowel disease.

This diagnosis, cause elevation of the leukocytes.

It consists in inflammation of the lining of the intestine.

I suggest to do a stool test and a colonoscopy to confirm the diagnosis.

Meanwhile, I suggest using an anti-inflammatory medication such as Mesalamine three tablets a day for the pain.

It is a prescription medication.

I also suggest taking daily probiotics.

I recommend drinking liquids and eating a plain diet.

For the pain you can use Buscopan 10 mg three tablets a day.

Avoid food that can trigger the symptoms such as spicy food or carbonated drinks.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

okay i have had an abdominal and pelvic CT Scan and my doctor says that everything is good except i have a 3cm cystic area on my right ovary i also have had a total hysterectomy in 2013 and she said that there is no sign of infection in my stomach or intestines. i have had stomach issues before and they couldnt tell if i had infections in my colon or stomach with a ct they had to do an endoscopy or colonscopy. Do they have new technology that can tell if there is an infection in the stomach by ct? should i still ask for a colonoscopy?
would ibd cause severe nausea when laying on stomach?

Brief Answer:
Follow up queries explained below in detail.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again dear,

I understand your concern.

An infection in the stomach can be diagnosed through a stool test.

Through the stool test we identify the type of bacteria causing the infection.

The colonoscopy would help to diagnose irritable bowel syndrome.

This examination allows accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Irritable bowel syndrome can cause nausea in general.

The symptom of nausea when laying down is typical for gastroesofageal reflux.

Hope my answer is helpful.

Feel free to contact me again for further evaluation.

Take care,

Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi
