How Long Does It Take To Switch From Ramipril To Candesartan?

Question: Switching from Rampiril 2.5mg to Candesartan 8mg on my specialist's instructions. How long should the Rampiril be discountinued before the Candesartan doses should start. Avoiding double actin of the drugs.

But as a general rule, if no relative hypotension is present, facing that 2.5 mg Ramipril is considered a low dose, Candesartan may be started the next day of Ramipril withdrawal.

It is necessary to closely monitor blood pressure values for a couple of days (several times daily), when starting a new antihypertensive drug, to better adjust the daily maintenance dose.
