I have irregular periods my last was march 14 this year. I went to the doctors XXXXXXX 10 and had a blood urine and ultrasound done saying i wasnt pregnant i had a cyst on my ovary abd to wait it out itll go away on its own . I went back to the doctors sept 17 and found out i was 18 weeks 3 days. I was told i conceived the end of may. My questions are can an ultrasound dating be a whole month off and i actually conceived the end of june? If i did get pregnant the end of may how was it missed with my tests at the beginning of XXXXXXX Whos most likely to be the father. 1) my ex who i had alot of unprotected sex with the end of may we never used a condom and he finished inside me a couple time. 2) my best friend who i slept with twice the end of may both tomes used a condom and it dodnt break or 3) a guy inwas seeing end of XXXXXXX we began sex without a condom but then put one on towards the end. Im loosing sleep over these questions and dont know where to turn for help.

Hello and thanks for writing in.

I understand your anxiety and turmoil in your current situation. After going through the details that you have provided, my opinion is as follows:

1) It is very unlikely that an ultrasound scan taken at 18 weeks can be off by a whole month. Usually, scans done after the first trimester (i.e. after 12 weeks) take into account multiple fetal measurements and the accuracy is +/- 1 week.

2) It is much more likely that the tests done in XXXXXXX were not able to detect the pregnancy. If you had conceived by the end of May, then there is a good chance that urine tests or even a scan done by early XXXXXXX could have missed the pregnancy.

3) You have mentioned that you had a lot of unprotected sex with your ex by end of May, but in the case of your other partners (your best friend and the guy you were seeing in June) it was only with a condom (and there was no ejaculation inside your vagina).

So, putting together all these facts, it is most likely that you got pregnant through your ex in May. However, only a paternity test (DNA test) will be able to prove this 100 %.
