Does Tylenol Interact With Oxycodone?

default
Posted on Mon, 28 Nov 2016
Question: I am taking Oxycodone - Acetaminophen 10-325 Mg Tab Amne and the refill is the same description except the Mayn wording. I use this for extreme sciatica pain and the replacement of Mayn is not controlling the pain as long as the Amne. Can I take Tylenol or Aleve for the pain between regular dosage?

Brief Answer:
Hi welcome to HCM, Yes you can take Tylenol or Aleve

Detailed Answer:
Hi welcome to HCM, Yes you can take Tylenol or Aleve in between taking Oxycodone-acetaminophen for sciatica. But it is not good to take pain killers without stopping regularly--it can cause stomach ulcers and harm the kidneys. So I have a suggestion--please try gabapentin 75 one at night with a high dose B-complex, and Capsaicin containing OTC preparation. These may releive your sciatica pains. Please revert back. Regards

Unfortunately, I am extremely allergic to Gabapentin. At 83, that is the only thing I have ever taken that I was allergic to. The reaction was red, burning rash from neck to waist.

Thanks for the answer to being able to use OTC with Oxycodone when needed.
