Do Fibroid In Uterus Cause Abdominal Pain?

default
Posted on Thu, 26 Jun 2014
Question: I apologize for not answering the last inquiry, I had trouble signing in. My new question is, I just found out that I have a retroflexed uterus with fibroids. I've been having stomach issues for a long time now. A lot of back and forth with diarrhoea and constipation. I've been diagnosed with ibs, and I have a lot of pain while moving my bowels. Could this be due to the placement of my uterus? I am very small, at only 5 foot and about 110 lbs. Is it possible that what is small (about 1") for a normal sized adult could be large to someone more Petete like me? I'm menapausal by 7 years, should I consider a hysterectomy? Or am I chasing another red herring? They said my uterus is completely folded back onto itself, and my bladder is slightly prolapsed. Could this be the cause of my abdominal pain?

Brief Answer:
fibroid uterus can cause abdominal pain

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing to HealthcareMagic.

Yes, fibroid uterus can cause abdominal pain but that will be limited to lower abdomen and back.

Fibroid uterus or retroflexed uterus generally doesn't cause bowel disturbance of diarrhea and constipation. That is mostly due to your ibs only.

And your height has nothing to do with the size of fibroid of uterus. It wont have any extra impact on your health.

Finally, in my opinion, it is advisable to undergo hysterectomy as this would take care of your prolapsed bladder. And should prevent further progression of the prolapse.

Hope i have been helpful.
