Posted on Wed, 11 Oct 2017
Question: My boy was born on April 3 2017. His 14 th week vaccination was taken on 26 July.. I forgot to get the due date for 6 the month vaccination from the doctor. When shall I give the 6 th month vaccination? During the 6 th month or after completion of 6 th month? Also, I will start working from Oct 3.. I had been exclusively breast feeding him till now. What other food options can I give him?& The frequency of feeding other food?

Brief Answer:
After 6 month completion

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
The next vaccine is due at completion of six months . That will be Oct 3 .
Now coming to your second query
As you will be working from next month, I would suggest following tips
1. Breastfeeding till you leave home and after coming back in evening and at night.
2. Formula like man or similac stage 2 to 3 times to satisfy his demands when you are not at home . Give a gap of atleast 3 to 4 hours between each .
3. Home made soft foods like kanji, ragi, pulses, idli, kheer, boiled vegetables and apple , other fruits in mashed form. These can be given once or twice daily for next month. Increase one feed every month.
4. Consistency should be watery initially and gradually transition to semi solids
5. Avoid salt, sugar, spices , egg white, cow's milk till 1 year.

Wishing your baby good health
