Question: I have rubbed 3 dose of Pennsaid on my bursitis on my upper teigh and now I am having tingling in my body as if I were bitten by a fire ant. I am a little itchy on my scalp. Could I be allergic to this med? YYYY@YYYY

Brief Answer:
Unlikely to be due to allergy. Could be due to Vit.B12 deficiency

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. I do not suppose that you could be allergic to Pennsaid (diclofenac). Rather, the sensation could be related to the bursitis itself. Your symptoms seem consistent with peripheral neuropathy. I would need to ask you if you are a diabetic. Deficiency of Vitamin B12 could also give rise to such a presentation. Taking methylcobalamine (Vitamin B12) 1500 mcg supplement per day for at least a couple of weeks should help in improving the situation.

Let me know if I could help further.
