Have Heartburn, Reflux, Had Heart Attack. Using Aciphex. Switch To Pepcid?

Hello,
I am a 50 year old woman, and I started needing to use Aciphex after I had my child, because I developed heartburn, reflux, unfortunately, I've been pretty much taking it for about 14 years, I lost weight and that's what I'm trying to do now, because I short waisted and think when I'm thinner I won't have a problem, My brother who's a doctor told me I try and get off it since there is new evidence that it could cause a heart attack due to narrowing the arteries or something like that, can I switch to pepcid? safely
