What Are The Causes Of Enzyme Lipase Levels Being High?

I have UC and now is active. Taking Uceris now. Two weeks ago had pancritic is and stay in hospital for 3 days. The enzyme was normal when I came home. I was taking sulfasulezine and Dr's thought it might be this med. and changes it to Uceis. After 2 weeks I did another blood test and enzyme Lipase is 4425. No pain at this time. The ultra sound and CT scann at hospital only showed the panrise is inflamed. They recomended to do Endoscopic ultra sound , which is scheduled for Feb.11th. What are the causes of the enzyme being high?

Hi....thanks for writing to HCM...the enzyme lipase is very specific to the pancreas...and your levels are very much raised....so its definitely a pancreatitis...pain may or may not be there...pain is usually there when there is blockage of its duct or swelling of the gland...also your ct and usg are already showing an inflammed pancreas....endoscopic usg is much more accurate...do get it...
