What Is The Duration For Conceiving After Partial Molar Pregnancy ?

Hi . I have a question. I recently had a partial molar pregnancy , My doctor advised i wait 6 months before trying to conceive again. It has been a month since my D and C surgery . My hcg has dropped to 8. do i still need to wait 6 months or can i try sooner after my hcg drops to zero? I have read a lot of posts from some people that the waiting period can be between 3-6 months .

Hello
Thanks for your query.
Normally, after a partial molar pregnancy, it is recommended to wait for 3 - 6 months before planning a next pregnancy.
As your HCG levels have dropped, you are now safe.
However, considering the safety profile, it is best to wait for atleast 6 months before trying to conceive again.
This will enhance the chances of a successful pregnancy next time round.
You should use oral contraceptive pills meanwhile to space out the pregnancies.
Also keep tabs on your B HCG levels meanwhile, and have regular follow up , as recommended.
All the best.
