Will Takinh Prednizone And Benedryl Be Safe Before CT Scan?

Do I need to worry about having a 100 degree fever when I had a ct scan with contrast earlier today? I had been told by a doctor after taking a medicine several years ago that I may be allergic to iodine after a reaction to the medicine I was given so I was always supposed to inform my doctors that before any procedure is done. I was given prednizone and benidril before the procedure. Several hours after the ct scan today I was feeling very tired and laid down to wake up feeling hot and feverish. My temp is only 100 degrees and wondered if I should be concerned. It is 7:15 pm here so my doctors have all left their offices for me to ask. Thank you for your help.

Hello,

If you are allergic to iodine, you can develop an allergic reaction to the iodine containing contrast. You were given Prednisolone and Benadryl to reduce the allergic reaction. Their effect must have worn off and the fever can be due to an allergy to the dye or due to an infection. If you have difficulty in breathing or dizziness, you should go to the ER without delay.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
