Will Taking A Deprolupren Injection Be Safe To Shrink Fibroids?
Hello, I had have several large uterine fibroids/heavy periods and bouts of anemia so a hysterectomy has been strongly suggested. I was given a deprolupren injection on 4/22/14 as an attempt to shrink the fibroids as well as stop my heavy menstrual periods prior to my possible surgery. My cycle is regular (every 28 days) and to my surprise it came again this month and is still heavy flow, so please tell me if this is normal/to be expected AFTER being injected with what i was told was a HIGH DOSAGE??
Taking Lupron Depot for uterine fibroids is totally safe. It helps to improve anemia from excessive bleeding due to fibroids and, your doctor might have recommended Lupron Depot along with an iron supplement for up to 3 months before your procedure. The use of Lupron Depot may reduce or stop the uterine bleeding by decreasing your body's production of estrogen.
