Will Problem In Knee Replacement Cause Numbness In Leg?

Hi! 7 years ago, I had both my knees replaced at the same time and now if I stand too long, my right top part of my leg goes numb and I have to walk it off to get feeling back. I was wondering if something is not right with my knee replacement or if something is pushing against something in my leg to cause the numbness? Thank you

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response

Hi
Welcome to healthcaremagic
I have gone through your query and understand your concern. The numbness in the foot is unlikely to be directly related to your bilateral knee replacement. This can be due to some pressure on the nerves in the leg. You should also get your tests for thyroid function test and blood sugar to exclude diabetes as these are causes of numbness. You can discuss with your doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to help you.
Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
