Addiction Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

It is an estrogen. Breast cancer often eats estrogen to grow, so there is an increase in breast cancer with exposure to increased estrogen. Also, pregnancy is associated with lower breast cancer rates. Contraception, therefore, would increase breast cancer somewhat.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Matt Wachsman, Addiction Medicine Specialist
