Will I Have Any Possible Long Term Effects After The Radiation Iodine And What Should I Use To Disinfect The Gamma Rays Having Being Diagnosed For Grave S Disease?
Hi, I ve have Grave s disease. I will undergo treatment soon. After the radiation iodine, other than the symptoms for hypothyroidism will I have any possible long term effects and how soon should I disinfect my house of the gamma rays and what should I use to do this? Thank you
There are no long-term effects, except for hypothyroidism, of Radioactive Iodine therapy. However, in rare cases, malignancy of Thyroid glands may occur.
No precautions, including disinfection of gamma rays, are required.

Will I Have Any Possible Long Term Effects After The Radiation Iodine And What Should I Use To Disinfect The Gamma Rays Having Being Diagnosed For Grave S Disease?
Hi there, Thanks for your query. There are no long-term effects, except for hypothyroidism, of Radioactive Iodine therapy. However, in rare cases, malignancy of Thyroid glands may occur. No precautions, including disinfection of gamma rays, are required. Lifelong thyroid hormone replacement therapy would be required for hypothyroidism.
