Why Is My Resting Heart Rate So High?

I went to the Doctor's today. I was diagnosed with a minor sinus infection, but I have a resting heart rate of about 120bpm and I'm having a little difficulty breathing. Plus, I can't sleep... I know I should be exhausted, seeing that I haven't hardly slept in the last three days. Maybe a max of five hours last night, other than that two or three hours.

Hello There

After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that if resting heart rate is more than 120 and breathing difficulties then it is recommended for you to go to emergency room and get an ecg, echo and CT chest done .

Hopefully this information will guide you properly

Kind Regards
Dr Bhanu Partap
