Why Is Insulin Unable To Control Blood Sugar Levels?
i have a type 1 diabetic patient. i am taking insulin since 3 years but insulin does not effect in may sugar at all but doctor has advice to take metride 1mg medicine after this medicine my sugar has control. what is the reason of sinsulin does not effect in my sugar.
Hello, you haven't stated the type of insulin you're taking. Insulin should control your blood sugar better than any other medication. Appropriate dosing is required. Metride is inactive in type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes means that your pancreas cannot produce enough insulin. Metride is supposed to make your pancreas release more insulin - which is impossible! I should note that there is a theoretical benefit due to the effect of glimepiride on insulin-growth-factor I but it is not a proven one. If metride improved your glucose levels then it is very possible that your diabetes is type 2 after all! Should you need a more specific answer, please provide more information on your condition including insulin type, dosage, diet, kidney function and physical activity. Kind Regards!
