Hi. Thanks for your query. Read and understood your history of Mastoid surgery in one ears which went on watering for long before; now it is dry but not cleaned for a couple of ears. Now, you are feeling as it there is fluid in this ear and totally dead. I would suggest you the following in such a situation. - Get an Audiogram done now and after completely cleaning , let us if there is some difference. - Get the ear cleaned completely to clear the debris it gets due to old surgery. - The treatment will be as per the findings after cleaning the debris in the ear whether there is otitis media or not. If present to get an add-on treatment with antibiotics, decongestant s and anti-inflammatory medicines. - Talk to your Doctor about whether the Cochlear implant will benefit you or not.
